Investigate both traditional and non-traditional media and materials, experiment and combine techniques and processes. Clothing Manufacture Production Operations
Investigates manufacturing systems and processes in current use in clothing industry, and systems for quality control. Students will analyze merits of different systems, and produce reports on their findings. Considers small scale and mass production. Costing, purchasing, cutting, sewing.

Textiles and Draping
Introduction to a broad range of textiles, both natural and man-made. Techniques of production. Utilization of various textiles for special purposes. Benefits of luxury versus ease of maintenance. Textile industry as a vital sector in Pakistan's economy. Students will learn how to select and utilize fabrics effectively in fashion creation, with particular attention to draping in development of dress forms. Draping as a means for study of the folding and fall of various fabrics.
Principles of Sewing Construction
Introduction to use of power sewing machines and their features and attachments. Understanding sewing techniques facilitates the practical design and cost functions in clothing construction. Students will sew a sample product, such as a shirt or basic dress. Advanced sewing operations, to develop speed, accuracy, and refinement. Students will create a more complicated article of clothing to demonstrate competence in sewing techniques. Analysis of problems in construction of finished product to meet the designer's criteria for perfection.
Pattern Drafting
Importance of pattern making for quality control, standardization of product, and efficiency of production. Transition from two dimensional drawing idea concept, to three dimensional application. Experimental shaping, folding, cutting to accomplish objective. Pattern marking. Pattern size adjustments.
Adobe Illustrator
Introduction to Adobe computer software and its application in illustration. Learning techniques for illustrating fashion. Detailed illustration versus concept illustration. Realistic dimensions and exaggeration of special features for dramatic effect and emphasis.
Accounting, Cost and Profits
This is a special course for designers to introduce them to basic principles of accounting, cost analysis, and profits. Success in fashion industry depends upon a basic understanding of the practical world of earning money, paying bills, budgeting, record keeping and investing in business expansion.
Advanced Fashion Design
Students will engage in personal choice of fashion product. They will research traditional and modern types. They will design a body of work reflecting their own style choices and preferences, with a target market in mind.

Students will design samples of each, and will produce a selection of products reflecting their research adapted to their own personal style. Making a fashion statement through accessories.
